10 Fall Activities
Autumn is a very pleasant time of the year, especially because it's very beautiful as the leaves change into pretty colors of red, orange, and yellow. It's also a great fashion season consisting of comfy sweaters, jackets, jeans, leggings, boots, hats, and a warm Starbucks drinks as an accessory!
Even though summer fun has come to an end, there's still plenty of fall/outdoor activities to enjoy before Mother Nature starts to pile down snow onto the Earth again!
1. Pumpkin picking
What’s the meaning of fall season without pumpkins? And what’s fun about buying pumpkins without picking them? Before Halloween, plan a group with some friends or family members to go to a nearby orchard to pick out the best pumpkins whether fat or skinny, or tall or small! Don’t ask me about carving though, knives are exactly my point of interest (or safety).
2. Drink apple cider (warm)
My mom heats up apple cider in a tea pot over the stove at about medium-high, and it is amazing. It’s perfect if you’re not a tea, coffee, or hot chocolate drinker, and even more delicious when the weather outside gets frightful. It’s like the warm sensation of a apple orchard in your taste buds!
3. Hiking
Who am I kidding, hiking is both healthy and fun! Hiking trails are more fun in the fall/winter in my opinion, it kind of gets sweaty and gross in the summer. But don’t go alone, get some group of friends or even your dog! Just watch out for wild animals …
4. Outdoor photoshoot
The beautiful colors of the leaves and trees are super photogenic, so why not take a fun photoshoot with some cute fall/winter outfits? This is also a good idea for senior pictures for anyone who is trying to pick out a good background setting.
5. Horseback riding
Not everyone is a horse-lover, so this isn’t a necessary one. But this is one of my favorite activities, especially when the horses aren’t as dirty or don’t attract many bugs like they do in the summer.
6. Corn Maze
Say, if you need a break from picking pumpkins at the orchard, head on over to the corn maze and get lost! (not completely lost, but a fun way of trying to get out) It's a perfect activity if you have younger kids, so get the whole family gang together and walk around! Just try not to go one a night, that would be a little scary ...
7. Halloween
Halloween is one of the most popular times of the year, so why not celebrate! I will be honest and say I’m not the biggest fan of Halloween just because I don’t like scary stuff, but I still love picking out fun costumes and of course, candy!!!
8. Watch your favorite sports
This is a pretty important season for all you football and basketball lovers, the start of a new season to a new championship! I’m a big Cleveland Cavaliers fan, so you can be sure that I’m “All In”!
9. Start Christmas shopping
Better to start checking off that gift list early than late! My mom always ask me, my sister, and her friends what they want for Christmas in August-September, that way she can get a head start and plan to get everything she needs so that by December it’s not as crazy.
10. Thanksgiving
Probably my second favorite holiday after Christmas, I just love being together with my family and of course the yummy food! (Dang, I’m already thinking about some delicious turkey … ) One of my absolute favorite Thanksgiving traditions is watching the Macy’s Day Parade, it’s so exciting to watch and makes me want to celebrate Thanksgiving in New York one day!
Hope you have a very enjoyable and pleasant fall season full of fun, Happy Almost October!! :)
